THE PRODUCER AND THE SEAGULL
Inspired by Anton Chekhov's “The Seagull,” one of the most important literary works in universal dramaturgy, the monologue “The Producer and The Seagull” is a comedy written by Jefferson Schroeder and directed by João Fonseca - director responsible for great successes. , such as the comedy “My Mother is a Play”, the musical “Tim Maia”, “Cazuza”, “The Great Mystic Circus”, “Oedipus” and “Desperate”.
SYNOPSIS
In the four-part play, author and actor Jefferson Schroeder plays Meire Sabatine, a fun and pick-up theater producer, who tells the story of Anton Chekhov's “The Seagull,” playing all the characters.
During the play, the audience learns that the theater-loving producer Meire is “contaminated” and changes her mind about art, as Chekhov's story unfolds, thus solving personal problems with her daughter.
The objective of the monologue is to convey to the public, in a humorous and creative way, the essence of the work “A Gaivota”, highlighting the importance of art and culture for a society that needs development.
“I hope people have fun, they laugh while naturally thinking about the seemingly subjective importance of art and theater. Think of the dreams that are followed and left behind, the evolving power of infinite love for children, parents, work, and how happy we are when we can fly our seagulls, ”says actor and author Jefferson Schroeder.
